Standard constructions are regular lay and either 19 Seale or 25 Filler Wire. Size relationships between strands and cores gives increased flexibility over 6 strand ropes of the same diameter. 8×19 wire rope has more crushing resistance and a higher minimum breaking force than 19×7, but less rotation resistance. Applications for this wire rope include multi-part reeving where limited rotation resistance is required.
